Eeee! Paint me excited.

Pacific Cinémathèque presents Crispin Glover for three exclusive evenings, July 18-20.

Mr. Glover will be presenting Crispin Hellion Glover's Big Slide Show, an hour-long audiovisual performance-presentation in which he narrates images from his story book series. Following will be his debut feature film, What Is It?, a mind-blowing, taboo-obliterating phantasmagoria and psychodrama which he describes as "the adventures of a young man whose principal interests are snails, salt, a pipe and how to get home, as tormented by an hubristic inner psyche."

Each evening concludes with a Q&A and book signing.

TICKETS: $20 — Advance tickets are on sale now, but are only available on-line at www.cinematheque.bc.ca.

Tickets will also be sold at the door. Box Office opens at 6:30pm nightly. Annual $3 Pacific Cinémathèque membership required. Restricted to 18+. NO PASSES will be accepted for this event.

Which one? One of them is Arnold Schwarzenegger circa 1978 doing yoga. I think it's hilarious. The screaming girl is last year's pop Idol winner or something. Hold on a sec. -(surf)- I can't track down the clip I ganked it from but she's an Irish girl named Carly Smithson. It's a still from an interview she did. When she opens up her eyes during a laugh or some other kind of exclamation, which is rare, she looks like a demon from the tenth circle of hell. It's quite the transformation. She's rather pretty in a plain sort of way otherwise.

I was looking for cover versions of the Beatles song Blackbird on YouTube and that's one of the songs she sang in Pop Idol. I wasn't terribly impressed. She didn't win but she got pretty far. That face freaked me right out, though.

I'm in total agreement about that face. Yikes and wow and yikes again.

Thank you so much for grabbing tickets. I expect it to sell out ridiculously quickly. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but I don't really want to risk missing it.

No problem. I hear what you're saying. I *hope* it sells out quickly. If his sort of weirdness doesn't bring them in droves, my faith in humanity will take another kick in the ribs.
